LED & Lighting

The invisible designer that sets a space's atmosphere: the right LED and lighting make the material and the space look far more striking than they are.

What is it?

Beyond simply lighting a space, LED and lighting are a design layer that creates atmosphere, accent and depth. Strip LED, spots, linear fixtures and decorative pendants directly shape how a space is perceived.

  • Strip LED: Hidden/indirect lighting; ideal for niches, shelves and under counters.
  • Spot & downlight: Product and accent lighting, adjustable.
  • Linear fixture: A modern, clean look with a continuous line of light.
  • Decorative fixture: Pendants and sconces — visible light that gives the space character.

Types & varieties

Colour temperature

  • Warm white (2700–3000K): Cosy and inviting; café and restaurant atmosphere.
  • Neutral white (4000K): Neutral and balanced; store and general lighting.
  • Daylight (5000–6500K): Vivid and crisp; display and technical areas.

Control & system

Light scenes are created with dimmable, colour-changing (RGB/RGBW), motion-sensor and smart control systems; choosing the right driver (transformer) and IP rating is critical.

Technical properties

Light sourceStrip LED, spot, linear, decorative fixture
Colour temperature2700K – 6500K (warm ↔ daylight)
Colour rendering (CRI)CRI ≥ 90 recommended for display
ControlDimmer, RGB/RGBW, sensor, smart system
Power supplyDriver/transformer of suitable power; 12/24V or 220V
ProtectionAppropriate IP rating in damp areas

Use cases

Wherever atmosphere and accent are needed:

  • Hidden lighting inside shelves, niches and displays
  • Linear light under and behind bars/counters
  • Accent spots for products and brand walls
  • Illuminated letters, logos and signage
  • Decorative pendants and general space lighting

Advantages & disadvantages

Advantages

  • Low energy consumption and long life
  • Low heat — can be used close to delicate surfaces
  • Atmosphere control through colour temperature and scenes
  • Slim profiles for hidden, clean integration

Points to consider

  • Poor-quality LED/drivers cause colour shift and failure
  • Requires proper heat management (cooling)
  • The wrong colour temperature distorts how a material looks

Care & cleaning

Fixtures are kept dust-free; dust inside strip-LED profiles is cleaned periodically. The driver/transformer should sit in an accessible spot so it can be swapped out easily if it fails. With quality products, maintenance is minimal.

How we apply it at Standchi

We design lighting as an inseparable part of the decoration, alongside the fabrication. We integrate hidden LED into shelves, niches, counters and brand walls, and build the space's atmosphere through the right colour temperature, CRI and driver choice.
