What is it?

Composite panel (commonly aluminium composite panel / ACP) is a light cladding panel with polyethylene or mineral filler pressed between two thin aluminium sheets. It is used to create flat, wide and modern surfaces.

  • Aluminium composite (ACP): Light, flat, easy to work; the standard for façades and cladding.
  • Fire-resistant (A2/FR): Mineral-filled, for places requiring a high fire class.
  • Surface options: Solid colour, metallic, wood and stone patterns, matt/gloss.

Types & varieties

By filler type

  • PE-filled: Economical, for interiors and general cladding.
  • Fire-resistant (FR/A2): Mineral filler, for façades needing high safety.

Processing

With CNC grooving (V-cut) and bending, corners turn seamlessly; columns, signage boxes and three-dimensional forms can be produced.

Use cases

For wide, flat and modern surfaces:

  • Exterior façade and entrance cladding
  • Column and large-surface cladding
  • Signage boxes and brand walls
  • Stand and display back panels
  • Suspended ceilings and decorative panels

Advantages & disadvantages

Advantages

  • Light; fast, economical installation on large surfaces
  • Very flat, wave-free surface
  • Seamless corners and forms via V-cut bending
  • Wide colour/texture range and a fire-resistant option

Points to consider

  • Can dent on impact (thin aluminium face)
  • On façades the right grade (FR/A2) and mounting system are essential
  • Cheap panels can fade

Care & cleaning

The surface is wiped with a damp soft cloth and a neutral cleaner; abrasives and solvents are not used. Regular cleaning keeps the gloss on exterior façades. The gaskets/seals in the joints should be checked periodically.

How we apply it at Standchi

By machining composite panel with CNC V-cut and bending, we produce seamless corners and smooth, wide surfaces. For façade, column, signage-box and brand-wall applications we choose the right panel grade and a concealed mounting system to deliver a clean, modern result.
